August:

Early October:
Late November:

I think I am satisfied that I have captured pretty much every stage of these large, gorgeous blooms.  I do love that they offer so many shades to show.

So there…no more images of my Hydrangea.

Well, at least until the Spring, when they start to come back to life, and offer a completely new palette…

Saturday: Late Bloomers

Just when you think there aren’t any more flowers left to bloom – Hosta, though already dramatic throughout the summer, wakes up and pushes out these beautiful, delicate flowers.  Well worth the season long wait.

Done

This is my sudden realisation that the flowers and colours that define summer are starting to draw to a close.  In some cases, I find the spent blooms hold just as much drama and elegance as they did at the height of their life.
