Sunday: Project

Day 150 of 365:

{Simple, Single Image on Sunday}

Summer weekends and DIY projects are synonymous.  Little things here and there, small changes to answer all the times I start a question with the words: “What If” and end it in a flurry of domestic ambition.

Today, I changed my tired, faded, blue metal watering can into a lemony-sunshiny-yellow one.

(Also managed to paint the side of my left foot and my cell phone cover the same bright yellow.  Whoops.)

Happy Sunday!

Still Life

Day 47 of 365:

{Weekly Photo Challenge: Life Imitates Art}

This week, find inspiration in a piece of art. Then, imitate it.

Van Gogh!  Van Gogh, Van Gogh, Van Gogh.  When ever I see a vase filled with fresh flowers, I think of Vincent and his repertoire of beautifully, brightly, painted flowers in vases.

So when I spied this fresh floral arrangement (received by my Mother for Valentines Days this past weekend) I thought to myself:

“well hey – a still life subject”…

Because really, all bouquets are works of art, aren’t they?

Some of Vincent Van Gogh’s Still Life flower paintings, just because I like looking at them:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dreaming

Okay – with this, I am being a tad cheeky….and this may seem a little abstract.  But hey, it’s a pretty abstract theme this week, isn’t it?  I look the topic of dreaming and dreams as being a blank canvas – until you start to fill it with your imagination, desires or fears…or all of these things.

So, I thought I would make this photo challenge all about me.

My family and I are moving in two and a half weeks.  All I can think about is boxes.  Finding them.  Taping them up.  Labelling them.  Tripping over them.  Filling them up with stuff.  Trying to lift them.  Getting frustrated at constantly running out of them.

Am I dreaming about boxes?

Yes – yes, I am.

You want to know what else I have been dreaming about lately?

Paint colours.  So many paint colours…

Most ridiculous photo challenge submission ever?

What can I say?  I’ve got moving and boxes and painting on the brain.

What consumes me during my waking hours will inevitably linger, invading my dreams as well.
