Day 173 of 365:

{One Word Writing Prompt: Companion}

Yoga time for Ellie.

Always at my feet, or under my feet.  When I sit down, she’s jumping up to sit on my lap.  When I go to bed, she’s waiting for me to hoist her up so she can snuggle into the covers too.  When I roll out my mat for a little at home yoga, she’s on it before I am, showing me what a downward dog really is.

Her name is Ellie.

She is one of three dogs that own me. (yes, you read that right – they own me.)  Ellie is the smallest of our pooches – but don’t tell her that.

She is little, she is loud.  She is always ready to give you a kiss, especially if you don’t want it….or don’t think you want it.  Ellie will change your mind.

Her favourite place is in the arms of whoever is willing to carry her around.

She’s overbearing.  She’s cute as hell.  She drives me crazy.  She’s the best afternoon nap buddy in the world.

She’s 9 pounds of pure personality and a force to be reckoned with.

And she teaches me little somethings about myself each and every day.

She’s my sidekick.  A persistent, pesky, adorable, sidekick. curved

Namaste – and Happy International Yoga Day too!

Sunday: Feels Good

Day 80 of 365:

{Simple, Single Image on Sunday}

Well, I did eventually come up for air yesterday.  When I was all written out, I rose from my basement office to ground level.

Now, my dog, Ellie, is an absolute sunbathing babe.  If we ever cannot find her, and it happens to be a brilliant and bright day, Ellie is most likely to be out on the back deck, soaking up the rays.  She’s a pretty smart pooch.

So when I emerged from my tomb, I followed my little dog’s cue and spent a few much needed moments breathing in the fresh, spring air and basking in the warmth of the sun.

And then it was back to work.  For me anyway.

Ellie enjoyed the sun for as long as she could…

Happy Sunday and Happy First Day of Spring!

Sunday: Pleasant

Day 66 of 365:

{Simple, Single Image on Sunday}

…just one of those pleasant Sunday’s.  Slow motion, easy-going.  The kind where it’s warm enough for the birds to sing, but cold enough the gloves are still a necessity while we walk the dogs.  The kind of day where everything is lovely and calm.  And the sun shines brightly.

Ready for Monday and the week to begin.

I hope your weekend was pleasant as well.

-Janice 🙂
