September Re-Cap

“Oh!  Good morning October – where did you come from?”

I don’t want to spend a whole lot of time reflecting on September.  The entire month was a juggernaut of exhausting activity in my household.  I barely had time to sit back and breathe.  To top it all off, I was working, shooting and then working some more.  I gave my head a bit of shake this morning as I flipped my library of images captured during September.  I was kind of all over the place with my camera.  As I count down the months in my year-long blogging journey, and getting closer and closer to the end,  I think I am going into some sort of photography and blogging “feeding frenzy”.  It’s like I want to make sure I share and touch on as much as I can before I reach my 365th post.

So here, in no particular order, are just a few of my favourite images I captured (and posted) during September:

Glow (from an “Abstract” weekend)
Maple Leaf (illuminated by sunlight)
Spotty (and a little mysterious)
My homemade butternut squash ravioli (just a bit of weeknight chaos)
Water’s Edge (enjoy a bright, beautiful Fall day)
White Flower

This is such an exhilarating time of year, isn’t it?  The drastic changes in the weather, the beautiful colours in the foliage.  As our plants and animals begin to hunker down for the coming chill of winter, so do us humans.  We have said good-bye to warmer days, and this is okay with me.  I can’t hold on to them, so I may as well look forward to what lies around the corner.

In all honesty, I have been anxiously, impatiently, waiting for October since about the middle of August.

Why?  Well that’s simple:

October is the official countdown to National Novel Writing Month.  This will be my second year taking part in this insane writing challenge.  I am itching to get started.  Writing 50,000 word story from scratch in one month is not the easiest thing to do, so my plan is use the next 31 days to prep.  I get all goose-bumpy and butterflies-in-the-tummy when I think about it.  You can’t see it, but I have a big, huge grin on my face as I type this.

October also brings awesome, fun things like all my kids birthdays, Thanksgiving AND Halloween.

How cool is all that?

Who has time to reflect on the previous 30 days when the next 31 hold the promise of so much inspiration?
