Seeing as we are two days into July, this post is a couple of days late! I usually have my month end re-cap up by now. What can I say? It’s been a busy weekend!
I am so excited to be entering into July: Not only is summer in full swing, I can now say that I have been blogging every day for over half of the year!
Instead of a review of just the past 30 days in photographs, I thought I would share some of my favourite images and posts from January on…
January 28th: “Like A Moth To The Flame” – I trudged down to the end of my driveway at 6am because I thought the ice-covered branches illuminated by the lamp looked awesome. A great capture, sure – but I froze my butt off trying to get it!February 15th: “History” – I found myself knee-deep in snow in a graveyard, surrounded by headstones on frigid winter day. All I could think about was the history of this place – especially when I found these two – crooked, weathered and worn. The one on the right was dated approximately 1853.March 17th: “Green Saturday” – The weather was unseasonably warm for St.Patrick’s day this year. So warm, in fact, I was able to keep my little potted shamrocks out on my deck. With a foggy background, nuances of an Irish morning, I thought it created a nice little vignette.April 2nd: “Small And Out Of Place” – As a nature photographer, I am constantly keeping my eye out for small wonders that tend to remain hidden and obscure. I love giving the otherwise overlooked a moment to be centre of attention. Which is why I centered an entire post around this little tree.May 4th: “Beauty” – Dandelions are widely regarded a nuisance – nothing more than a pesky weed. I was musing that perhaps if we took a better look, we might see that this flower is actually just a pretty as a rose or peony.June 13th: “Weekly Photo Challenge: Friendship” – This is one of the reasons why I love doing the WordPress photo challenge each week. I think this is one of my favourite captures from the past six months – A strong bond defined with a single snap of my shutter. 🙂
So there you go, six months of posts and six images to sum up Writing The Girl so far. This tale is definitely not done yet. The best part is, I feel more and more like “A Writer” each and every time I hit “Publish”.
Once again…thank you!!!…to all of you that have subscribed to my blog. Thanks for making my words and images a (small) part of your life – you have definitely become a part of mine.
lovely pics! 🙂
Love the “Friendship” photo! Just beautiful.
